Brick Lane

14 09 2009

Went to Brick Lane to check out their market. Alot more local as Camden seemed a bit too touristy for my tastes.

Random weaponry lying around

13 09 2009

Whilst walking to a friends house to meet up for some dinner, we ran across an old World War II flack gun. A bit random but a nice opportunity to see how the Ricoh works for long exposure shots.

Bunhill fields cemetary

12 09 2009

After having a great Vietnamese lunch in Bank, we got to walk around a nonconformist graveyard at Bunhill Fields.
From what I have read about the nonconformists, they were people who were tried for treason for talking out of turn against the church and state.
The headstone on the left is the grave of Thomas Roswell. Check out this wiki here.

Touristy stuff

11 09 2009

One thing that I haven’t really done so far is blazed the tourist trail. We had a bit of time before lunch so got to check out the Tate Modern and walked around Parliament Square.

Tamil run store in Tooting

Tamil run store in Tooting

Sue and I have been staying in Tooting at a friends house. On our daily walk to the tube, we always walk past a Tamil run convenience store that has some of the best veg I have seen in this country. Though, whoever said that England has crap veggies was completely wrong as it has been all good.
